Aqua Bistro: Coral Bay Restaurant with Character

January 13, 2015

Aqua Bistro is the greatest little local restaurant for all in Coral Bay in St. John. Here locals catch up and vacationing guests enjoy the show.

Aqua Bistro can't be beat in Coral Bay St. John. It's a main stay and hangout where locals catch up with one another and the food by the way, is great. Fresh fish is always available--local fishes too, not just the frozen stuff flown in. Their homemade soups are awesome and their Ponzu Tuna night on Fridays is an island desitnation not to be missed. Get there early, (before 6) as the place has ample outdoor seating and parking but fills up fast. Music is usually heard there in high season on Fridays and other nights as well.  Check with their schedule. The inimitable Dave D'Alberto, a local St. Johnian favorite is maitre d' on Fridays ... he is sure to steer you to the best specials if asked. They define themselves as follows:

Aqua Bistro is located on the “quiet side” of the island in Coral Bay. The atmosphere is casual but elegant – making it the perfect spot to kick back, relax and enjoy a wonderful meal under the umbrellas of their outdoor courtyard. Or enjoy an appetizer and a cool island-style libation surrounded by both tourists and locals, beneath the tiki-hut style outdoor bar.
